Dr. Kyle Kovach visited the Qiu lab this week

Dr. Kyle Kovach is an expert on utilizing drone and in situ hyperspectral remote sensing for the estimation of structural and biochemical traits in forest ecosystems. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Freiburg. He obtained an M.S., B.S., and B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University. In fact, he has designed and built multiple drones and aerial sensors for forest applications in the lab. He is now working as a postdoc associate at Townsend lab at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Kyle is visiting us to help on the scoping study of integrating imaging Spectroscopy (both field and drone-based) with field work to understand forest biodiversity.
